I remember a December day back when my kids were still pretty young. I was having a bad day and everything seemed wrong, hard, and frustrating. I was driving on the freeway to run some errands and complaining in my mind about pretty much everything I could think of. Then, for some reason I thought, "Well....at least the roads are dry. I hate driving on slick roads." Then a minute later I thought, "At least the kids aren't sick. I hate it when the kids are sick at Christmas time." That was about all it took for my thoughts to suddenly change directions and begin finding things to be grateful for. In fact, in less than five minutes, I had...
"Charlotte had written the word RADIANT, and Wilbur really looked radiant as he stood in the golden sunlight. Ever since the spider had befriended him, he had done his best to live up to his reputation. When Charlotte's web had said SOME PIG, Wilbur had tried hard to look like some pig. When Charlotte's web said TERRIFIC, Wilbur had tried to look terrific. And now that the web said RADIANT, he did everything possible to make himself glow." - E.B. WhiteI was heading down the road the other day and noticed an older pickup truck in front of me. It's license plate read "Radiant". I laughed as I immediately thought about Charlotte's Web and Wilbur the "radiant pig". I have...
I was at my chiropractic appointment yesterday relaxing on the TENS unit table next to a very cute mom and her chattering son (we'll call him... Henry). He quieted for a minute, I'm assuming to watch a commercial, and then said, "Mom, you should try exercising. Then maybe your tummy wouldn't be so big." I heard a muffled, "Thanks, Henry". 😟I had to chuckle because my adorable little one likes to come up and rub his hands into my stomach and tell me how much he likes my "squishy tummy". Adorable eh?.....To Henry's credit he did follow up with "But I love all of you mom!"❤️ So here's to Henry's mom and all of the rest of us with kids...
Have you heard of the Love Languages? My love language is words of affirmation. Through and through, as in the highest score you can get for any love language is 12 and I'm a 12 in words of affirmation! For whatever reason I can live on a good compliment for days, weeks even! Maybe that's why I love this adorable tin envelope! Most people would probably use this to gather mail but my first thought was how fun it would be to use it to collect love notes from your loved ones, it is almost Valentine's Day after all! My oldest is a love note writer and I LOVE it! This would be a fun way to collect all of...
Joy. According to the dictionary, joy Is “a great feeling of pleasure and happiness, a desire to rejoice.” I feel, deep in my heart, that we are all on this planet so that we might have joy. I can tell you right off that the two things that bring the most joy to my life are my family and my faith. That encompasses a lot of territory. But there are also small moments in our days and lives that can still be considered joy. For instance, I remember a Sunday a few years ago. Most of our family had met for dinner. It was in the spring, a cloudy slightly breezy day. We were all sitting out in our front yard. I...
