Keep your Face toward the Sunshine

My husband and I like to listen to books while we're on a road trip. Recently we listened to "The Compound Effect" by Darren Hardy. It's a great read/listen and I highly recommend it.⁣⁣One of my favorite parts is when he compares our mind to an empty glass. The effect of constantly listening to the news and the radio talk shows, along with any negative programming, is like filling the glass with dirty water. It tends to focus on the negative, the sensational, the shocking. I agree completely. How many times do you come away from watching or reading the...

You Have to Learn to Laugh

I've been visiting the chiropractor a lot lately because basically my neck curves where it shouldn't and is straight where it should curve. Sounds a lot like the rest of my body! 😘 Well.. I am still trying to learn to relax as my body is twisted and cracked in ways I don't twist and crack. Guilty child/Sneaky mom

No interrogation needed with this highly refined technique😏. When it's too quiet and you get that mom sense that they are getting into trouble just pull out the ninja moves and slip in from behind and watch the reaction.🕵 You'll either get a "oh, hi Mom" or you will have to peel them off the ceiling. My middle child is the most entertaining with this but I did get an awesome reaction from my daughter once too. She was in trouble and stomped up to her room. After a minute I could hear talking and I walked upstairs to see...

Blessing in Everything

I remember a December day back when my kids were still pretty young. I was having a bad day and everything seemed wrong, hard, and frustrating. I was driving on the freeway to run some errands and complaining in my mind about pretty much everything I could think of. Then, for some reason I thought, "Well....at least the roads are dry. I hate driving on slick roads." Then a minute later I thought, "At least the kids aren't sick. I hate it when the kids are sick at Christmas time." That was about all it took for my thoughts to...

RADIANT

RADIANT

"Charlotte had written the word RADIANT, and Wilbur really looked radiant as he stood in the golden sunlight. Ever since the spider had befriended him, he had done his best to live up to his reputation. When Charlotte's web had said SOME PIG, Wilbur had tried hard to look like some pig. When Charlotte's web said TERRIFIC, Wilbur had tried to look terrific. And now that the web said RADIANT, he did everything possible to make himself glow." - E.B. White⁣⁣I was heading down the road the other day and noticed an older pickup truck in front of me. It's...
