Day 8 of Just Joy's Christmas Traditions Countdown:
The best and most treasured gift I have ever been given was the gift of having all of my boys under one roof for the holidays. My youngest son was born at 27 weeks and spent 285 days in the hospital his first year of life. That time in the hospital included his first Christmas. I remember vividly that Christmas Eve having to leave him in the hospital and be home with my other son who wasn't feeling well while my husband took my other two boys to try and have as normal of a Christmas Eve as possible at the family party. My heart was broken as my family was in three different places on my very favorite night of the year. I dreamt of a time when I could celebrate this special holiday with all of boys under one roof. That is all I wanted for Christmas. Luckily we were blessed with many miracles in his progress as he grew and got stronger that year. The next Christmas I was given the greatest gift of having him home with us to celebrate.
Christmas is all about love and family and I still thank my Heavenly Father for the gift of family and the blessing of being together, especially at special times like this.
