This morning when I got up, it was Monday, but when I went to bed last night, it was Friday......how can that be???😮
Ever feel like that? A week feels like a day and a month feels like a week?? I'm absolutely positive that there is some scientific explanation for it. I just don't know what it is!🤔
Sometimes it makes me want to panic a little. Or a lot. How on earth am I going to accomplish everything that needs to be done, let alone everything I want to get done? That's when I try to step back, take a deep breath, and think "What are the three things I can do today that will make the most difference?
No doubt you've seen the object lesson where you try to fill a quart jar with a few large rocks, a handful of pebbles, and sand.
If the sand goes in first, the large rocks and pebbles won't fit. But if the large rocks go in first, then the pebbles, and then the sand, everything fits just fine.
So what might the large rocks be in your day? Some of mine are:
🔸Inspirational reading such as scriptures, educational, etc
🔸Family time: spending time with my husband or keeping in touch with our kids and grandkids
🔸Fitness: time on the treadmill
🔸Work: taking care of our business tasks
And what might some pebbles be?
🔸Housework and projects
And the sand?
🔸Read a fun book
🔸Go to a movie
🔸Go to lunch with a friend
🔸Work on a hobby So the point is, if we get the most important things done first, there is not only room for other needful things to be done but also some leisure things too!
Am I perfect at doing this? Absolutely not! But I try and when I do try, it seems to work.
It's something to think about anyway. Because you know when you go to bed tonight, tomorrow it's going to be Friday.....right??
