One of the most fun and most rewarding things about working with metal is when I can take a flat dull piece of steel and make it into something warm and inviting.
This metal basket is something I have wanted to do for sometime. Going into the fall season seemed like the perfect opportunity. As we were putting it together, I pictured pinecones and fall leaves welcoming family and guests as they enter into our home. The rusted finish seems to especially shine with fall colors.
Of course I pretty much decorate anything and everything for the Christmas holiday. This is a perfect container for holly, pine sprigs, ornaments, and battery candles on my kitchen table. I LOVE the soft light of candles in the evening!
It could even hold a bouquet of hand towels in a bathroom! Linen napkins in the kitchen? Scarves in the bedroom?
I hope there are many, many different uses and we would love to hear your ideas! Mostly I hope it feels warm and inviting to you too as you add your own personal touch.
